Lashes Lashes Everywhere!

Updated: Apr 10, 2021

Shedding is a natural process. Yet, there are times when we may experience more shedding than others. Below are some possible factors:

  • General cleaning. Be gentle when washing your lashes. Although the lashes are bonded, they are still delicate. (If the lashes get wet, don't let them air dry. Use a towel to blot dry)

  • General seasonal shedding. This happens 2-3 times a year. (Typically lasts about 4-6 weeks)

  • Hormones/Monthly Cycle. Due to chemistry, we could lose hair/lashes more frequently during our “lady time”. (If we are low in Estrogen or Progesterone, this could also affect our retention rate)

  • New Medications. Remember, any time the chemistry in our bodies change we may see a shift in our hair too.

  • Excessive Exercise/perspiration. This could erode the lash bond due to sebaceous (oil) and sudoriferous (sweat) remaining on the bond too long. (Don't forget using oil based products on your face and heavily oiling your hair can do so as well)

  • Traveling (Airlines are notorious for dry air – which affects the lash bond)
